Found this legacy gt on Craigslist. Looks pretty promising. Little high on the milage but it recently underwent an engine rebuild and some upgrades to the interior. Fair price at 9500?

2005 model with way less mileage (103,000 km) for $8,495. Calling that one CP, but barely.

Guy can rebuild a motor but not remove the plates to take a picture?

Yeah but getting that into the US of A might be a challenge. I have to work with about a 300 mile radius

If you make an offer make sure the guy has receipts...
Or, if you want to join the Swedish Wagon Club:

Road trip. Plus, it would be in the superior form of distance and speed measurement, as well as slightly smelling like French people.

Automatic and 2005-vintage navigation system = CP

I'd do it if it came with an autographed Carey Price or P.K. Subban jersey haha. And that would be one of those things where I'd have to fly out and drive it home and believe it or not I don't have a passport lol. Nor am I good with converting from metric to standard for the speedometer

Are the xc70s turbo or na?
also don't know how I feel about the plastic body cladding. Always looks so cheap

It's 08 vintage navigation ;) they pulled it from an 08 LGT

2.5l 5 cylinder turbo. Makes 210hp and 236 ft-lb torque. It also has DTSC and park assist. I dunno if this one has HIDs, but it does have premium sound.

Interesting. I just hate the plastic pieces. Maybe if I find a black one I can just plasti dip that crap

The normal V70 has body colored trim but it's hard to find an AWD one.

I mostly just hate navigation. I don't like having that bigass screen staring me in the face all the time, and usually Google Maps on my phone does better routing for the ~5% of my driving when I actually need navigation. At least in this case it's pretty much separate from the stereo.

Yeah and looks easy enough to swap in one of the newer double din units that gives me that in car android stuff. My wife's best buy discount is gonna be handy once I do purchase stuff. Head units are usually like 60 percent off haha

I'm a gadgety guy but I hate having a bunch of gadgety shit in the car. I like bluetooth audio streaming and speakerphone, but beyond that I want it to be simple. I hate having a big LCD there all the time. Especially if it takes over controls for other things like radio and HVAC.

It's not a steal, but I'd say it's a decent price, especially with that engine work. It shouldn't need the timing belt, water pump, or head gaskets, done for another 90k miles, and that alone is saving you over $1,000 in maintenance. FWIW KBB lists the '05 GT with that mileage at $8,900 in fair condition, $9,900 in good condition, and $10,300 in very good condition.
That said, the rust is an issue. When the fender rust starts if you don't get on it pronto it will become very bad very quickly, especially in areas that get winter. I'd also like to see the damage he mentions to the seat bottom cushion. Plus, of course, receipts, service records, and the Carfax.
I've had an '08 Outback XT (basically the Legacy GT on a set of stilts) for a couple months and I've absolutely loved it. There are a few extra maintenance and operating costs required (premium gas only, synthetic oil every 3,000 miles, no exceptions ), but I've felt they were worth it. If it hasn't been done already you will want to swap out the turbo up-pipe with a catless model (better economy, performance, and turbo/engine life).
All in all I wouldn't say no to this car (and I would definitely support searching for Legacy GTs/Outback XTs), but I would say do your research before making an offer.
